I get cranky when I don’t work out. I haven’t done any activity since Sunday because off this stupid cough/sore throat/etc. I know it’s good (read: smart) to take time to recover, but it’s so hard when you’re accustomed to exercising every day.
I was feeling much better today — managed to rally enough to get to work — and really just have a lingering cough and scratchy throat. So I decided it would be ok to get on the trainer and spin for about 30 minutes. Nice and easy. I’m planning to go to class on Saturday, so I wanted to stretch my legs out, especially because I wasn’t able to get another ride in this week. Oh well.
This is part of that smart training learning process — at what point can you ease back in, and when is a workout more harmful than helpful?
