Early Morning Yoga

I was planning to go for a run this morning, but when my alarm went off and it was sleeting outside, I figured I had a good excuse to hit snooze.

Instead, I did a 25-minute yoga session from YogaDownload. The site has free 20-minute classes, and you can purchase weekly, monthly or annual memberships (or pay for longer classes) that allow you to download or stream audio and video. They used to have a podcast, which is what I followed for Morning Yoga #1 — focus on backbends, with Cobra, Warrior and Wheel poses thrown in.

I don’t have much floor space in my room, but it’s just enough to fit a yoga mat. It was great to start the day with a calming — but strengthening — routine. I may have to do that more often.
