This is a pretty common post theme across the blogosphere, so I’m going to try it out. Here goes, my three random thoughts for the day:
1. The weather is still sucky. The past few days have been brutally cold and windy, and I’m way over it. Things are looking up, however. It’s supposed to be 46 degrees on Saturday (for the Undie Run), 51 degrees on Sunday (for Love the Run) and then continue in the high 40s/low 50s through next week. Let’s hope weather.com gets it right, for once.
2. I’m attempting my first lunchtime run today. Usually I work right through lunch because I have regular early/mid-afternoon deadlines, and it’s tough to do anything but eat quickly at my desk and write. During the summer, I don’t have time to run and shower and get back to my desk (in theory, I won’t have to shower since it’s so cold now). But today — since I won’t get to run otherwise — I’m going to use that hour for myself. If it works well, maybe I’ll make it a regular habit as time allows.
3. I have one more day left on my Bikram pass, and it’s actually growing on me. I’ve been three mornings this week in addition to my first class last Saturday, and it’s a great way to wake up and start my day. It’s early, which means I have to be up at 5:20 in order to get my act together and get to the studio 15 minutes before class starts — trust me, you need that time to acclimate to the heat — and it ends late, so I just get ready for work at the studio and walk to my office from Dupont. I’m starting boot camp on Monday and won’t have time for anything besides that and swim/bike/run (and sleeping and eating, I hope), but a little part of me wants to return to Bikram at a later date.
