Week in Review

This week was a pool-heavy one. Wilson and I are good friends these days. I like the idea of focusing on the swim and bike — my weaker legs — especially while I’m injured and can’t run too much. That way I’ll be strong across the board. Or that’s the theory, at least.

Running (2 pool, 2 road)

Total distance: 20.52 miles (12 pool, 8.52 road)

Total time: 3:05:15 (1:50:00 pool, 1:15:15 road)

Cycling (3 rides)

Total distance:  51.11 miles (plus Friday spin without my cadence meter)

Total time: 4:40:28

Swim (4 sessions)

Total distance: 11,450 meters (WHOAAAAAAA YEAH)

Total time: 4:05:00


Boot camp: 2 hours (squats/pushups/lunges/curls/etc.)

Summary: 13:50:43 with several strong swims and two killer bike sessions. I’m definitely getting stronger, and I can’t wait to see the results out on the course.

In related news, I ran into Coach AJ at the pool on Sunday and had the chance to chat about my IM plan, which should be starting shortly. More on that in a future post, but she had some very positive things to say about my training thus far and what I have to look forward to this season and beyond. She also told me to go eat a cheeseburger. File under: coaching advice I love.
