Week in Review: This Sucks Edition

Last week was a crappy one. That’s no secret. I may have gotten my training hours in, but none of them were particularly great. My LT test on Saturday was a huge failure — I’m planning to possibly retest this week — and every workout just dragged. Yuck.

We were chatting at dinner the other night about quality workouts versus junk workouts, and I definitely am excited to get into my formal training plan that helps me lay out those quality sessions that truly go toward my end goal rather than putting in the miles just because I have to.

So here goes.

Running (3 pool)

Total distance: 23.50 miles

Total time: 3:40:00

Cycling (3 rides)

Total distance:  74.96 miles (including one ride outdoors!)

Total time: 6:17:00

Swim (4 sessions)

Total distance: 8900 meters

Total time: 2:45:00

Other

Strength/dryland: 1 hour

Summary: 13:38:23 — added in strength and stretching this week, so that’s positive…

  1. It looks like your riding and swimming are coming along really well though! Any news on the bike?

  2. Sorry it was such a bad week but at least you got the time miles as they will make you stronger in the end. Hope this week is off to a better start!
