IM Race Day Tracking

If you’re really, really, SUPER bored on Sunday, you could spend a few hours tracking me as I make my way through 140.6 miles in Wisconsin. I know more than one of you might be planning to have cocktail hour(s) while watching race splits.

[That’s a lot of mimosas and glasses of wine, ladies. Just sayin’.]

Anyway, if you have absolutely nothing better to do, there are a few ways to keep up with how well I’m surviving the most epic day of my life thus far. First:

Now, IronmanLive is notorious for sucking — it was way far behind on splits at Placid, for example — and crashing and generally not giving the best picture of reality, but for semi-official results it’s the best option. You’ll click the “Live Tracking” link, which will take you to a page that looks something like this:

My bib is #213. The site (if it’s the same as last year) will have the final swim time, T1, three bike splits plus finish time, T2 and four run splits plus finish time. If it’s behind, don’t worry, it doesn’t *necessarily* mean I’m on the side of the road somewhere or hours behind on my pacing.

The other option is to follow me on Twitter if you don’t already. I’ll be handing my iPhone over to my mom, who already is a pro Tweeter with her own account, to keep everyone updated on my progress — not just splits, but how I’m looking each time she and my dad see me. Hopefully it’ll be things like SHE LOOKS AWESOME AND IS FLYING LOOK AT HER GO OMG and such. If you don’t tweet (well, you should) or don’t want to bother with that, my account also feeds into the sidebar of the blog.

If anyone makes a drinking game out of IM spectating/split-watching, I expect a full report on the rules after the race.
